Installation and Setup Tips

Smart modules must be installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated. Confirm the neutral and live conductors, follow the terminal markings and keep the total load within the rating of each channel. Metal boxes and enclosures reduce wireless range, so check signal strength before closing the installation. Pair the module in the app, name each channel clearly and test local switching as well as app control.

How to Choose a Smart Module

First decide where the module will sit: behind a wall switch, inside a ceiling, or in the distribution board. Check the number of channels and the current per channel against the loads, and whether a neutral wire is available at the installation point. Then choose the protocol: Wi-Fi connects directly to the router, while Zigbee needs a gateway but offers a stable mesh network and lower power use. Finally, consider extras such as energy monitoring, RF remotes, RS485 or dry contact outputs.

Maintenance and Care

Smart modules need little maintenance. Keep firmware up to date, review schedules and automations when the use of a room changes and check terminals during routine electrical inspections. If a module goes offline, check the Wi-Fi or Zigbee signal and power supply before replacing it.
